Headlines are still swirling about both the mocking of Vice President Mike Pence's faith by The View co-hosts as well as how the FBI might have prevented the tragic school shooting in Parkland, Florida, last week.
Stephen E. Strang, author of the best-selling book God and Donald Trump, released the following statement about the news stories.
"Ridiculing people of faith like Vice President Pence will only further alienate millions of Americans who profess faith in Jesus Christ," Strang said. "When will liberals understand that mocking Christians will further erode their standing with the people of this country? The left media and others want to bring down Christianity, and they continue to attack the No. 2 leader in America and the most important aspect of his life: his faith. This is not a smart move.
"As America moves further away from the truth of Scripture and its call for morality and personal responsibility, we see heinous crime, corruption and murder. What should we expect when we do everything possible to remove God and moral authority from our schools and our culture?
"To make matters worse, if the FBI were not so intent on bringing down President Trump, they would not have neglected to follow up on Nikolas Cruz leads," Strang added. "The result is that 17 people died in Florida. This is an abomination, and there is absolutely no excuse for it."
Strang is an award-winning journalist and successful businessman who began his career as a newspaper reporter at the Orlando Sentinel. He later founded a Christian publishing house and media company while interviewing and writing about nearly every Christian leader in the country over the past four decades.
God and Donald Trump is published by Frontline, an imprint of Charisma House, which has published books that challenge, encourage, teach and equip Christians, including 14 New York Times best-sellers.
