Jenny Rose Curtis, Copy Editor

Jenny Rose Curtis is copy editor of Charisma Media's print and online magazines as well as co-host of the Charisma News podcast. She joined Charisma Media in 2014 after graduating summa cum laude from Stetson University with degrees in Spanish and Communication & Media Studies. Both of her freshman term papers—one of which was titled Difference of Faith: Why Conservatively Religious Students Can Thrive in a Liberal Arts University—won awards at Stetson for excellent research. As much as she loves academic study, though, some of Jenny Rose's greatest passions include worshipping Jesus, mentoring young women in her church's youth group and making people laugh.

Taylor Berglund, Assistant Online Editor

Taylor Berglund, assistant online editor, joined Charisma Media in 2015. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 2015 with double majors (Radio-TV-Film, English) and a 4.0 GPA. While at university, he was student president of His House Christian Fellowship (2012-15) and UWO Film Society (2014-15). He was also a producer for two campus television series, a writer for three series and an editor for the university's Writing Center. In his spare time, Taylor applies his active mind to rabidly consuming pop culture so he can be prepared for his C-POP podcast (

Christine D. Johnson, Managing Editor

Christine D. Johnson, print managing editor of Charisma and SpiritLed Woman magazines and editor of Ministry Today and Christian Retailing, has been with Charisma Media since 2000. She earned her master's degree in journalism from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and a certificate of biblical studies at Columbia Biblical Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina. Prior to starting her career in print journalism, she worked in Christian radio and missions with Far East Broadcasting Company in Manila, Philippines, and with WARO/WWCS in the Pittsburgh area.

Shawn Akers

Shawn A. Akers, Associate Editor

Shawn Akers, associate editor, joined the Charisma team in June 2012, fulfilling a dream to use his talents for the Lord. He started his journalism career at 15 and worked at several small newspapers as a sports writer and editor. He worked in the NASCAR industry for the sanctioning body and its sister company, International Speedway Corporation, for 16 years. He is working on his journalism degree and is scheduled to graduate from Ashford University in 2014. His passions include his family—wife Patty of 15 years and children Rachel and Joshua—St. Louis Cardinals' baseball and Alabama football.

Jennifer LeClaire is senior editor of Charisma. Jennifer brings her blend of news savvy and prophetic and charismatic perspectives to the magazine. Jennifer has worked in publishing since 1990 as a journalist, editor and marketing copywriter, and is also the author of several Christian books, including Mornings With the Holy Spirit, The Making of a Prophet, and Jezebel's Puppets. Her combination of publishing and ministry experience offers a unique take on the news that matters most to charismatic believers. Steve Strang, Founder and CEO

Steve Strang, founder of Charisma magazine, is an award-winning journalist, entrepreneur, businessman and author. He is founder and president of Charisma Media, which in addition to Charisma, publishes Ministry Today, the Spanish magazine Vida Cristiana and Christian Retailing. His Orlando, Fla.,-based company also includes Charisma House, Siloam, Creation House, Casa Creación, Realms, and FrontLine, plus many other innovative products that in the last 36 years have earned a reputation as the world's leading charismatic publisher.

Lee Grady

J. Lee Grady, Contributing Editor

J. Lee Grady, is contributing editor for Charisma. He was the magazine's editor for 11 years. He has been involved in Christian journalism since 1981 and has faced a monthly deadline ever since. A native of Atlanta, he has been with Charisma since 1992, serving as news editor, managing editor and then becoming editor in 1999. He and his wife, Deborah, have four daughters. Lee has won three first-place reporting awards from the Evangelical Press Association, and his monthly column in Charisma, "Fire in My Bones," has won awards from the Florida Magazine Association. Also an author, Lee's book 10 Lies the Church Tells Women, published in 2000, opened a unique door for him to preach internationally. He has since traveled to 12 nations, challenging the church to release women in ministry and to end abuse and gender discrimination. In his spare time Lee is trying to learn to speak Spanish.
