My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. —Proverbs 4:20-22
When we became born again, we received the eternal life of God. Eternity has no beginning and no ending, and even death has no hold on us. There is no death to a born-again believer (Galatians 2:20). We have already died the only death required of us.
The only difference physical death makes to the born-again believer is the transfer of the life of God from earth to heaven. We do not have to wait until we get to heaven to become healthy, wealthy, and wise. A victorious life is available to us on earth now.
Solomon told his son in Proverbs to pay attention to his words, because they are life—not that they are going to be or hope to be or may be in heaven—but they are life and health for you today.
Jesus, open my ears to hear Your Words clearly. I hunger to feed on heavenly manna,
which is truth and life for me. Amen.
