{ Day 70 }

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. —Ephesians 1:4-6

I can remember when I began to think of God with a big smile on His face. I imagined Him saying, "I enjoy you—knowing you brings pleasure to my heart." I initially struggled with thoughts that are all too common to many of us: "Who, me? Did You see my sin? How can You enjoy me when I have such weaknesses?" However, the Father would answer through the counsel of His Word, "I see the sincerity in your heart. I see the cry in your heart to please Me even though you often stumble. I delight in My relationship with you!"

How awesome it is, precious Holy Spirit, to realize that Father God truly takes delight and pleasure in me! How unbelievable that before He spoke creation into being, He had already chosen to love me and to make me one of His children.

I saw that God wanted me to run to Him,
not away from Him, when I failed.
