The Holy Spirit in You

Have you settled for only a small part of the Holy Spirit? It's time to acknowledge who He really is and His divine purpose in your life.

Many Christians seem to have the idea that the Holy Spirit is an "it," a manifestation of the power of God or the gift of tongues. But the Holy Spirit is none of these. He is the third Person of the Godhead, a divine Person with a plan for our lives.

And He doesn't come to us haphazardly; He is a Person of purpose. God has an eternal plan and purpose for every individual who accepts Jesus as Lord and Savior. The Holy Spirit is God bringing that purpose to reality as we learn to yield to His will for our lives. read more

Stand Out and Speak Up for Jesus

Many christians lack the courage--or the conviction-to testify to their faith. But the power of the Holy Spirit helps us to speak up.

As I go out into the world, presenting the gospel on television and radio talk shows or exalting Jesus from secular and religious platforms, I am treated with respect--most of the time. But reviews of my engagements are not always as gracious as my live hosts are. They sometimes describe me as a middle-aged woman parading a worn-out, old-time message that has no relevance in our century--simply because I lift up the cross. read more

Becoming One With God

Achieving true oneness with the trinity requires laying aside our own self or soul-life in order to live by the thoughts, desires and choices of Christ.

The bombing of the World Trade Center on September 11 changed all our perspectives. Nonbelievers watched the crumbling towers and faced their own mortality. Believers saw the beginning of the end.

Seeing that we have little time to allow the Holy Spirit to bring us into conformity to the life of Christ, we asked ourselves, How should we then live? We recognized that of ourselves we were sloppy, self-indulgent witnesses to Christ, and suddenly we were galvanized into a deadly seriousness about our Christian walk. read more

Will You Ride With Him?

There is no difficulty in life that can hold you captive when you know that the victor, the word of God, lives in you.

As Christian women we are often told to read the Word of God. "The Word is your defense against the attacks of Satan," people say. So how come it looks as if the enemy is winning in our lives more often than not?

"Lord, am I faithless?" I cried out to Him not long ago. "Do I doubt your Word? Why isn't there more victory in my life?" In response, God led me to Revelation 19:11-13--a picture of the victorious Christ riding into battle on a white horse. But what did this Rider have to do with me and my battles, right here and right now? I wondered. Again, God responded, leading me step by step through the Scriptures until I understood this powerful message of hope and victory. read more

Use Your Authority

You must claim the courage, anointing and spiritual power God has given you.

What a gift—to live in our time! Today is a day of great opportunity for women. We can now break through to new positions and levels of authority in all spheres. Women currently lead in every sector of society. We direct schools, universities, corporations, churches, governments and nations.

In the midst of this unparalleled opportunity, there's also great trouble: war, earthquakes, tsunamis, famines and devastating weather patterns. We live in a country divided by every kind of controversy. Unrighteousness is now being legislated so that people can "legally" sin. Call it a day of immense turmoil and pain. read more

The Ingredients of the Anointing

OLD TESTAMENT PRIESTS WERE CONSECRATED TO GOD THROUGH THE USE OF SPECIAL OILS. TODAY, WE MUST BE SURE WE DON'T MIX THE WRONG ELEMENTS WHEN WE SEEK TO CARRY HIS ANNOINTING.

Throughout my teen-age years, my aunt owned a catering business. She was known particularly for her ability to bake wonderful cakes--as beautiful as they were delicious. These weren't your everyday oven fare made from butter, eggs, sugar and flour. These were anointed cakes, and they included a secret ingredient.

I remember one occasion when her daughter asked her to bake a huge cake for a friend's baby shower. My mother and I and several others were in the dining room when she was putting the cake together.

The Power of Your Words

WE HAVE THE ABILITY EITHER TO BLESS OR TO CURSE.

Your words are powerful! They can carry the creative power of God or the destructive power of the devil. They can encourage or discourage, heal or hurt, build up or tear down. Depending on whether you speak a blessing or a curse over your family, the words you speak will produce either good or harmful results.

Most people readily accept the concept of blessings as valid or biblical, but they are either skeptical about, or refuse to believe, that curses can be passed on as easily. In most cultures, a curse is viewed as something a witch, warlock or practitioner of voodoo would conjure up and place on someone. In truth, a curse can come from such sources. read more
