Many of us have lost our perspective on pain. We expect only good things from a good God and do not realize that God can make good come from even our worst situations. read more

I was deeply grieved to learn that no one he interviewed could quote any of God's laws. The ones who tried were way off base. read more
God's purpose for every soul involves bringing that soul into oneness with Himself. As we willingly yield our lives to God, He brings us into perfect union with Christ.
READ: Matt. 19:4-6; John 17:20-24; Gal. 2:20; Eph. 5:25-32; Phil. 3:8-14; 1 John 3:1-3
HEART ISSUE: Have you surrendered yourself fully to God? What, if anything, is holding you back?
PRAYER FOCUS: Father, I want to be brought completely into oneness with You. Show me where my will is opposing Your will in my life. Amen.
In Ephesians 5:32, Paul calls our union with Christ a "profound mystery." Through His indwelling Spirit, God enables us to communicate intimately with Him.
READ: Ezek. 36:24-28; Ezek. 37:12-14; Joel 2:28-29; John 3:1-6; Rom. 8:5-17; James 4:1-6.
HEART ISSUE: Do you know how to communicate with God's Spirit inside you? What could help you interact with Him even better than you currently do?
PRAYER FOCUS: Father, thank You for the gift of Your Spirit. Sensitize me to experience and respond to Him as You will. Amen.
Make sure you understand that God will prepare you for the answer to that for which you are praying. He wants to qualify you, and the qualifications may be so rough that you tell Him to forget it.
In the Old Testament, the Israelites left Mount Sinai and walked a large circle in the wilderness before reaching Kadesh Barnea, where they sent out a spying party into the promised land. Ten of the 12 spies weren't ready for entry, and they came back with a bad report (see Num. 13:31). read more
Like Fenelon, we've all had occasion to be ashamed when we've looked back at the behavior we exhibited when going through difficulties. How poorly it attests to our faith. But weathering storms changes us forever, not just by developing our spiritual muscles, but also in terms of solidifying our certainty of God's awesome love and protection. read more
High-speed communication has provided us with the means to reach more and more people with the gospel. Yet the same technology is being used to destroy the souls of men and women who are tempted by ungodly pleasures and entertainment. We must as women of God labor to "keep [our] hearts with all diligence." read more
Often it's said that no one backslides overnight. We become accepting of our decreased interest in prayer and spiritual disciplines, and we gradually begin to take steps away from God. Without a conscious decision to increase in spiritual passion, we will slowly begin losing the desire we have. Then it becomes easier to tolerate carnal thoughts and behaviors. But the romance can be restored by repenting, recalling the memory of "first love" and re-establishing the intimacy by doing the first works. read more
All of us have had to deal with baggage from the past--things we either willfully or innocently were a part of that we fear will disqualify us from being blessed and used of God. The infirm woman in Scripture is an illustration of perseverance. Though she had experienced incredible indignities and isolation because of her illness, she possessed an ability to overcome the odds against her. She had a proven track record as a survivor. As such, she is a model for every woman who needs to be strengthened and restored to embrace the inheritance to which she is entitled as a daughter of the living God. read more
We've all had the experience of being touched so powerfully by the Holy Spirit that we knew instantly everything would change from that moment. Throughout our time on earth there can be many life-changing encounters with the Spirit of God. Often we may be tempted to question whether a permanent impartation has taken place. Scripture does offer us prerequisites for staying on fire for God.
Begin using what you have. Keep in mind the fact that the anointing is not given for personal consumption. The anointing must be allowed to flow out to others. read more
Many christians object to the idea of women in ministry because they believe the bible forbids it. The scriptures show their belief is unfounded.
How is it that women would venture to preach when female ministry is forbidden in the Word of God?
This is a serious objection to consider and, if capable of substantiation, would receive my immediate and cheerful acquiescence; but I think I can show, by a fair and consistent interpretation, that the very opposite view is the truth--that the public ministry of women is absolutely enjoined by both precept and example in the Word of God. read more
The Old and the New Testaments provide multiple examples of women who operated in the gift of prophecy. Joel tells us God's daughters will prophesy through His Spirit. read more
