Corporate prayer does not lessen the importance of spending time alone with the Lord. However, God has promised us a special sense of His presence when our hearts are united in petitioning Him. read more

God’s names reveal His nature and point us to our inheritance.
Did you know that God has many names? As a matter of fact, He has hundreds. And they are all representative of His awesome character.
A proven formula for spiritual growth and transformation combines the right approach to Bible study with the practice of Christian disciplines.
GOD, IN HIS SOVEREIGN GRACE AND outrageous love, has given us in the Bible a written revelation of who He is and what His purposes are for humanity. There is no book that is remotely close to achieving the significance and influence of this one. But the intrinsic power and greatness of the Bible does not make it easy for us to receive the life it offers.
In point of fact, we can often use the Bible in ways that stifle spiritual life or even destroy the soul. The source of the problem is rooted in the two most common objectives of Bible study: (1) The practice of studying the Bible for information or knowledge alone and (2) the tendency to study specific passages of the Bible that speak to particular needs rather than seeking whole-life discipleship to Jesus. read more
Often it appears Satan has the upper hand--attacking our marriages, our families, our jobs, and even our identities--causing us to feel powerless and out of control. If we are to walk in victory over the attacks of the enemy, we must recognize that God is mightier indeed! In His Word and by His Spirit, God has given us the victory, showing us that He is not only with us, but also working through us, no matter what we face.
HEART ISSUE: Instead of spending time entertaining what the enemy has done to you, why not spend that time reading God's Word and seeing how mighty in spirit God can equip you to be!
READ: 2 Cor. 10:4; 2 Cor. 13:3; Eph. 1:19; 2 Thess. 1:7; 1 John 4:4; Phil. 4:13.
Satan is a deceiver and a thief. He will try to get you to imagine that there is no hope. That is the time when you need to get tough with your faith and turn to the truth found in God's Word. In God's Word, you will find His assurance that not only are you protected from the attacks and wiles of the enemy, but you are also called and chosen by God and strengthened by His might.
READ: Is. 40:31; Is. 50:7; Is. 54:17; Is. 59:19; Gal. 1:15; John 10:10.
HEART ISSUE: Can you set aside more minutes in your day to read God's mighty promises in His Word? Consider the result--you will grow mighty in spirit.
PRAYER FOCUS: Father, thank You for the promises of Your protection, Your presence and Your power in my daily life. I am truly confident in You. No matter what I face, no matter what things look like, I am assured by Your Word that You make me mighty in spirit. Amen.

DOES GOD EVER ASK HIS SERVANTS TO WALK WITH HIM IN PLACES THAT ARE UNCOMFORTABLE AND EVEN UNDESIRABLE? THE SCRIPTURES AND HISTORY TELL US, YES.
One of the most stunning comments I ever heard, almost a throwaway remark, came from one of the most famous ministers in the world. He said to me, "R.T., the more God uses me, the less I am able to enjoy it."
This may be incomprehensible to some, but I know exactly what he meant. God has many ways of ensuring that while we enjoy His blessing, we do not become conceited. read more

WE KNOW THAT BITTERNESS HINDERS OUR EFFECTIVENESS FOR GOD. BUT HOW MUCH FORGIVENESS IS ENOUGH?
Most of us have times in our lives when we are pushed to our limits with regard to forgiving others. I have vowed not to retell my story, but suffice it to say, I had never been hurt so deeply before or since.
I couldn't discuss it with my family members. But one friend from Romania was far removed from the situation, so I was able to tell him everything. read more
At times, the way seems clearly laid out for us. But at others we feel confused, unprepared and inadequate.
You've undoubtedly had the experience of ministering to someone and coming away thinking you had utterly failed. But a few days later you encountered that person again, and she told you your ministry was an answer to prayer! read more
One woman's dramatic encounter with Christ shows us that he came to deliver women from spiritual oppression.
We do not know her name. Usually we refer to her as "the woman with the issue of blood." But those words from the King James Bible seem archaic today and make her seem faceless and distant. She was a real person, and her pain was intense.
I sometimes imagine that this fragile shell of a woman was called "Mara"--the Hebrew word for bitter. Chronic sickness had disfigured her life. Yet Christ got so close to her pain that she dared to touch Him, and her healing has provided inspiration for countless sermons ever since. read more
For one thing, the preparation was longer than the journey itself. We prepared for months, checking flight times and prices and making certain all our paperwork was in order.
Some of the preparation was tedious and time-consuming. How true this is in the spiritual realm as well! In fact, the season of preparation God requires of us often drags out so long we get discouraged because we are eager to be going somewhere. read more
