Stand Out and Speak Up for Jesus

Many christians lack the courage--or the conviction-to testify to their faith. But the power of the Holy Spirit helps us to speak up.

As I go out into the world, presenting the gospel on television and radio talk shows or exalting Jesus from secular and religious platforms, I am treated with respect—most of the time. But reviews of my engagements are not always as gracious as my live hosts are.

They sometimes describe me as a middle-aged woman parading a worn-out, old-time message that has no relevance in our century—simply because I lift up the cross. read more

Prayer That Shakes the Earth

This is not a time for feeble praying. God has equipped you with power and spiritual authority to bring about change.

The Lord is positioning His church to become people of action who will advance the kingdom of God. We are Christ's ambassadors; we are called to represent His rule. Wherever we are, the kingdom of God is also.

First Peter 2:9 says: "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light" (NIV). read more

Stuck in Your Circumstances

While we're in the middle of a difficult situation, sometimes the last thing we want to do is praise the Lord. Beth Moore explains how we need to change our attitudes so we can praise God and ask for His help.

Women Leaders

When Women Lead

In the workplace, as well as in the church, basic leadership principles are the same for men and women. But when you’re a woman with men under your authority, there are several things you need to keep in mind.

God is placing more women in ministry leadership roles today than ever before. The number of God-fearing women serving in leadership roles traditionally held by men in churches, ministries and Christian organizations of every kind is growing. How exciting to see godly men and women serving together at every level and the body of Christ more closely resembling the fullness of our Creator.

If you are called to be a leader in Christian ministry, God will bring it about. Psalm 75:6-7 tells us that promotion comes from the Lord. He also determines how long each leader serves. It is not up to us to prove or position ourselves for leadership. It is up to us only to be prepared and to live pure lives of obedience as we walk with God. That knowledge relieves the pressure of having to "perform" or to please people. We need to please only God. read more

Working Woman

God at the Office

Christ is marshaling an army of professional women to advance His kingdom in the corporate world.

Someone once said, "People of vision see the invisible, hear the inaudible, think the unthinkable, believe the incredible and do the impossible." No one better exemplifies this adage than Christian women in the marketplace.

These visionary women are discovering their call from God to affect every arena of life. They are setting high standards of integrity and morality in their places of work. They are using their spiritual gifts and anointing, which have traditionally found expression only within the walls of a church, to bring success and favor in the secular world. read more

God Wants You to Be Helpless

When I lived in the nation's capital, I used to notice how often the Washington papers reported suicide leaps from the Calvert Street Bridge. This happens so repeatedly that the site is often called "Suicide Bridge."

Sensing the human drama behind these brief notices, I often thought there was probably a common denominator in all these tragedies. Each person must have felt helpless.

And I have thought, If I could speak with such persons at the zero hour, I would try to stop them with the thought that helplessness is one of the greatest assets a human being can have. read more

Keeping the Sabbath

So God's rest is there for people to enter.
—Hebrews 4:6, NLT

Let's explore a biblical principle God set in motion at the close of creation week—the principle of Sabbath. It's so important that the violation of it in Old Testament times meant certain death.

I'm not going to suggest that we change the day of our religious activities to Saturday. Nor do I propose that we ban all Sunday activities. I simply want to introduce a concept that is valid, relevant and necessary in our contemporary society—the Sabbath rest. read more

Surrender and Walk in Freedom

Everyone has struggles. But God's power will free us when we give ourselves to Him.

I took the old shoebox from my closet and looked through the tattered love letters James had written to me during his first year of college. It occurred to me that they were 20-year-old letters.

A lot had happened in 20 years.

We’d become a family of five. The James Robison Evangelistic Association had grown to its peak in outreach. Many respected spiritual leaders described James as the most dynamic and gifted preacher of our day. read more

Trusting in God Gives Us Hope

God's sovereignty is so great; He gives us peace and hope in even the darkest times. No matter how difficult things get, we always have hope in Jesus Christ. In her powerful testimony, Georgia Shaffer explains how she relied on God while battling cancer and raising her son.

Woman reading Bible

His Word Revealed in Us

Our lives will become a demostration of God's glory when we begin to walk in his truth.

The Bible declares that the whole earth is filled with the glory of God (see Num. 14:21). When the people of God reflect who Christ is, we manifest His glorious presence before the world.

God's glory is here. But we will need to open our spiritual eyes in the midst of the darkness around us in the earth, in order to see and know that this is true. read more
