Through the Eyes of the Spirit

Spiritual vision can be a reality for every Christian through the discipline of prayer. A born-again believer can see the kingdom of God. His Spirit reveals to our spirit a picture of things as they are in the heavenly realm, thus enabling us to perceive all He has for us.

When You Can't Have It Your Way

DOES GOD EVER ASK HIS SERVANTS TO WALK WITH HIM IN PLACES THAT ARE UNCOMFORTABLE AND EVEN UNDESIRABLE? THE SCRIPTURES AND HISTORY TELL US, YES.

One of the most stunning comments I ever heard, almost a throwaway remark, came from one of the most famous ministers in the world. He said to me, "R.T., the more God uses me, the less I am able to enjoy it."

This may be incomprehensible to some, but I know exactly what he meant. God has many ways of ensuring that while we enjoy His blessing, we do not become conceited. read more

When A Thirsty Soul Found Love

SHE WASN'T PROUD OF HER PAST, BUT A CHANCE ENCOUNTER WITH A STRANGER AT A PUBLIC WELL CHANGED HER PERSPECTIVE ON EVERYTHING.

Many of us are familiar with the story of the woman at the well, the Samaritan outcast whom Jesus encountered outside the city of Sychar (see John 4:1-42). Throughout our lives, we may have heard her mentioned in various anecdotes on God's grace.

A closer look at this story, however, reveals a detailed account of God's plan to restore broken lives and symbolically, the bride. There are four stages to this process described in John 4: (1) the invitation to accept living water; (2) embracing the past; (3) establishing a relationship through worship; and (4) being released for ministry. read more
