Our understanding of the kingdom of God takes a dramatic turn when we realize our first calling is to love and enjoy Jesus Christ. More than by fear or a sense of duty, our obedience to Him must be fueled by our love for Him or it becomes reduced to rigid orthodoxy and dead works.

HEART ISSUE: God was motivated by love to send His Son to the cross. Is it for love that you serve Him? Ask God for purity of motives and for a clear understanding of His love for you.
PRAYER FOCUS: Father, teach us how to love You. Knowing You gave Your own Son for us, let us in turn hold back nothing from You. Give us the desire to linger in the presence of our heavenly Bridegroom and release our love fully, without fear or reservation. Amen.
