When Plumb released her self-titled debut album in 1997, she perhaps had no idea where her music and songwriting would lead. Now more than 10 years later, her history is peppered with success highlights. She has released five critically acclaimed albums. Her music has been played on Christian and mainstream radio. And her songs have been heard on films and TV shows such as Bruce Almighty, Just Married, ER and Felicity.
Her newest album, Beautiful History: A Hits Collection, celebrates her career. This 20-song set features fresh recordings of such favorites as "God Shaped Hole," "Stranded" and "Here With Me" as well as new songs "Hang On" and the title track.Plumb says: "It was and it wasn't intentional that both of the new songs on Beautiful History ended up being about hope. ‘Hang On' is about ... hanging on. You keep breathing in and out, never knowing if it's going to stop in three days of 30 years. But when redemption comes, it'll seem like you just blinked your eyes. And ‘Beautiful History' is about all the messes we've made and the sovereignty of God, who picks you up, brushes you off and says, ‘Begin again.'"
Her soft-rock melodies are thought-provoking and will encourage and uplift listeners. Beautiful History celebrates what Plumb had already accomplished, but fans will hope this is just the beginning for this talented artist.
