Son of God, the Twentieth Century Fox feature film from the creators of The Bible miniseries, will be released in theaters nationwide Feb. 28, 2014. This motion picture will bring the story of Jesus’ life to audiences through the same cinematic storytelling that Fox says has made The Bible the best-selling miniseries of all time.

Producer and Actress Roma Downey (Touched by an AngelThe Bible) and Producer Mark Burnett (The VoiceSurvivorThe ApprenticeThe Bible) brought the epic miniseries to television audiences around the world with their company LightWorkers Media. The series became the No. 1 cable entertainment telecast of the year, one of the fastest-selling TV-to-disc titles ever and went on to garner three Emmy Award nominations.

The producers are excited that their Jesus narrative will finally be seen on the big screen.

“We are very excited to be working with Twentieth Century Fox to release Son of God as a major motion picture,” said Downey and Burnett. “We responded to an overwhelming demand for the greatest story ever told to be seen as a shared experience on the big screen. It's the story of Jesus for a whole new generation.”
