In 1893 America’s first immigrants achieved their dream of owning land. They worked hard to provide a heritage for their now-grown children. But the young people want their own destiny, and farming isn’t it. Thorliff Bjorklund has been writing since he was young and wants to study journalism in college. His father disagrees, and Thorliff is torn. He loves his father, but he longs to fulfill his own dreams.
