Last Sunday, May 27, churches and pastors from all over the world gathered together to celebrate the Holy Spirit.
For me, it was an exciting time to visit a dynamic Pentecostal church in the Atlanta suburb of Kennesaw called Worship With Wonders. It's pastored by Myles Rutherford and his talented wife DeLana. Learn more, here.
I've known of this church since it started 6 years ago. It's developed into a dynamic church of about 400-500 that meet in a converted racquetball fitness facility. The church has interesting outreaches to drug addicts, prostitutes and other people most churches ignore. Watch a video of Myles telling about this and this innovative commercial from his church.
I was with my family in the north Georgia mountains over Memorial Day weekend and I wanted to visit a church I knew was on fire and would celebrate Pentecost Sunday as I had urged everyone to do in a previous Strang Report. I had come to respect Myles and had gotten to know him through Ministry21. (He was the first member!) I knew he wasn't ashamed of his Pentecostal roots; and I wasn't disappointed.
I enjoyed the powerful worship and some of the best music I've heard in a long time! His message was from Acts chapter 2. He talked about William Seymour and Charles Parham, the fathers of Pentecostal revival, and said they prophesied that 100 years later there would be a revival that would shake the world. His sermon was about how God is "restoring water, renewing wine, releasing wheat (and separating from the tares) and reviving the wind.”)
As a celebration of Pentecost Sunday, Billy Wilson and the people at Empowered21 are gathering reports and testimonies from around the world. I've told you my story.
For a limited time, we are extending our celebration of the 40th anniversary of Charisma. As a special offer, you can get 40 issues of Charisma magazine for only $40!
